The Redistribution Tax We Have to Have

Ross Garnaut, Socialist with his snout in the trough:

"This tax will keep future Australian generations safe from dangerous climate change"

Ever doubted that global warming was just the Left’s latest excuse for ramping up taxes and redistributing wealth?

Garnaut: use carbon tax to redistribute wealth

The Gillard Government’s global warming advisor, Ross Garnaut, today gives the game away:
Wise use of revenue from a carbon price can reduce the cost to the economy, and promote productivity above what it otherwise would be.

The largest element of revenue (around half initially rising to the large majority) should be applied to productivity-raising reform of the personal income tax system, focussing on low and middle levels of incomes. This will generate positive effects on income distribution as well as national productivity.
But this is what Julia Gillard said yesterday:
I think we know which of these two spruikers is closer to the truth.

Governed by fools:

Keneally admits: no idea how much the tax will cut temperatures. If at all

Some guy at the debate between NSW Premier Kristina Keneally and Opposition leader Barry O’Farrell asks the very basic question that journalists always miss: by how much is your “carbon tax” going to lower the temperature?
And the answer is a scandal:
But it was a clash with questioner Rob over Ms Keneally’s support for the federal government’s carbon tax that heated up her 60 minutes at the microphone.
Asked what impact the tax would have on global temperatures and emissions, Ms Keneally replied she was not a scientist so she could not give an answer
No idea if it will work. Never even asked. But let’s do it anyway.

Gillard’s global warming speech: count the deceits

Alternative views are an absolute no no:

If GetUp keeps up this hateful rhetoric, someone might get hurt

Wow. Talk about the language of hatred and fear. Here is part of the latest email from GetUp to its supporters:
As a climate champion, you know what we’re up against. Ultra-rightwing politicians, millionaire radio shock-jocks and corporate polluter lobbyists are trying to engineer a dangerous lie - that Australians are mobilised against climate action.
No one, according to GetUp, can have an alternative view on man-made warming without being corrupt or a neo-Nazi.
Bobby Brown is laughing loudly in the back:
Julia Gillard refuses to say who made her inflict this carbon dioxide tax on millions of voters:
On Monday, Ms Gillard said she was compelled to introduce a carbon tax due to the fact she was leading a minority government.
“If I’d been leading a majority government I would have been getting on with an emissions trading scheme (ETS),” she said.
But asked on Wednesday who exactly had forced her to change tack, the prime minister refused to name names.
But hee’s a clue, from Sky News Agenda, which found the one person in Australia who’d say such a thing:
